First off—no, that’s not me. Sadly. That’s a stock image of a cat. But isn’t she so cute in her little bandana?
I’m an educator and writer in Portland, OR. My talents include tying shoelaces for kindergartners and playing knockout basketball with middle schoolers.
I write humor pieces and middle grade fiction. My work has appeared in various places, including McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, The Rumpus, and BuzzFeed. An excerpt from one of my manuscripts won first place in the Middle Grade category of the 2016 Pacific Northwest Writers Association Conference Contest in Seattle, WA.
Before I switched to education, I worked as a copywriter. I wrote for Nike, Pottery Barn Kids, Shutterfly, Philz Coffee, Deschutes Brewery, and more. I now spend my days working at a K-8 school and trying to convince my two young sons to brush their hair.
I’m represented by Saba Sulaiman at Talcott Notch Literary.
